GHHI is hosting these informational meetings for community-based environmental justice leaders to obtain information and guidance about how to access these important funding opportunities. Information will be provided about the following topics:

  • Assistance for organizations working on:
    • Water or air environmental concerns
    • Stormwater issues
    • Improving food access
    • Local cleanup projects
    • Illegal dumping activities
    • Healthy housing
    • Toxin remediation
  • Funding that doesn’t require lengthy grant applications.
  • Financial support with assessment and planning, as well as implementation.

Purpose of Grants:

  • Focus resources on communities disproportionately affected by environmental, climate, and human health harms and risks.
  • Support capacity building for local grassroots and community-based organizations.
  • Provide assessment, planning, and project development funding support and technical assistance to organizations.
  • Help transform disadvantaged and underserved communities into healthy, thriving communities.
Subgrant Details:
Tier I: 1 year up to $150,000 for assessment projects
Tier II: 1-2 years up to $250,000 for planning projects
Tier III: 2 years up to $350,000 for project development projects
Noncompetitive: 1 year up to $75,000 for severely capacity constrained communities
