Budgeting for Federal Grants and the SF-424A

Do you know how much money it takes to run your project or program? Do you know all the expenses you’ll need to cover to ensure success? Do you know how to submit your expenses on a federal SF424A Budget Information Worksheet as part of a federal grant application? If you want answers to these questions, please join NPS Chesapeake and West Virginia University for an introductory webinar on budgeting and the federal budget submission process with presenter Carrie Staton (Director, West Virginia Brownfields Assistance Center at WVU).

In a competitive grant environment, being able to accurately and adequately convey your project/program budget lets a reviewer know you have thought through the financial resources it will take to plan and implement a successful project or program. But the budget shouldn’t be based on guesses. It should be based on verifiable approximations that are relevant and realistic to the proposed activities. Presenter Carrie Staton of West Virginia University will introduce you to budgets, budget narratives, and expense categories, and orient you to the federal SF424A Budget Information Worksheet, a required form as part of federal grant applications. Carrie Staton has an incredible amount of experience in pursuing federal funding to support community needs. Join us to benefit from her expertise.
