Christiaan Abildso, PhD, MPH is a Physical Activity Specialist with WVU Extension's Family Nutrition Program. In this role he is focused on creating more active, healthy communities in West Virginia through policy, systems, and environment change. His extensive work in Physical Activity and Public Health has been focused on the policy and the built environment influences on physical activity, especially in rural areas and small towns. Dr. Abildso has published a number of studies about Morgantown area rail-trails, physical activity planning, what works in creating active rural communities, and evaluation of health promotion programming. Christiaan also proudly serves on a number of local and state committees focused on transportation planning, safe streets, and rail-trails.
