This fall, the Land Recycling program will be hosting three free Brownfields Basics trainings across the state. Please join us in Johnstown, Norristown, and Danville, for a free introduction to the basics of brownfields.
Pennsylvania’s voluntary cleanup program, known as Act 2, presents a clear path for addressing brownfields in the Commonwealth. In these sessions you will hear from experts in the field from the US Environmental Protection Agency, PA Department of Environmental Protection, PA Department of Community and Economic Development, Mid-Atlantic TAB (Technical Assistance to Brownfield Communities), as well as a local partner to bring you some real-world examples of projects that have gone through the process. Learn to understand the basics of the Act 2 Program and how to acquire funding for your projects.
Each event will begin with an informational session about the brownfields process, followed by a networking session for attendees to connect with others in the field. Food will be provided during the networking session.
Whether you are completely new to the concept of brownfields, or are a seasoned Act 2 brownfields veteran looking or a networking opportunity, these trainings will introduce you to the knowledge and contacts that will help you navigate through the process of bringing these properties back to productive use in your community.
